Rifle Shooting
General Information
Subject to survey and required permissions, both indoor and outdoor ranges can be arranged at a location to suit you. BWDS have a team of NSRA qualified leaders to run the range for you in accordance with POR and all legislation. We have all the equipment required to set up and run the range for you. BWDS permanent air rifle & pistol shooting range is hosted by Brighton Hill Scout Group (BHSG) in their HQ (see below).
Permission to Shoot / Declaration
Rifle shooting is subject to legislation and ALL shooters will need to make a declaration on the shooting permission form:

Note: This form can also be used for Rifle Shooting and Tomahawk Throwing.

Location
Permanent Range – Brighton Hill Scout Group HQ
Indoor Archery and Rifle ranges can be set up at Brighton Hill Scout Group HQ where BWDS are fortunate to have a permanent air rifle/pistol range.
Use of BHSG HQ, Brighton Hill, is by prior booking with Brighton Hill HQ booking clerk Jackie Edwards 01256 328833 kenneth.edwards@btinternet.com
Please ensure that you have booked the HQ before booking a shooting session. (Current charge £5 per hour).
Portable Range
We have a portable range that can be set up at a location of your choice subject to permission and suitability. Once a request is received, the Air Rifle administrator will discuss the location with you before confirmation is given.
Monthly Air Rifle/Pistol shoot
2nd Wednesday January – November
BWDS Air rifle instructors run a regular shoot on the permanent range at BHSG HQ for all members of BWDS of Cub age and over. Shoots take place from January to November on the second Wednesday of each month.
Range opens at 19:30, last admission 20:30 with the range closed at 21:00. An additional charge of £1.50 per session is payable for this activity.
Anyone shooting must submit a signed declaration to the range officer (see above). Under 18’s will require parent/guardian signature on their form.
