Basingstoke West and East District Scouts are running another challenging “Treasure Hunt” – this year based in and around Portsmouth:
Hysterical Port-Chops
Scouts, Explorer Scouts and Leaders from all four Districts – Andover, Basingstoke East, Basingstoke West & Silchester; are invited to enter teams.
The Hike
On the day participants will need to make their way to the start point in Portsmouth, travelling by train, car or bus where you will be set off on an exploratory route around Portsmouth to finish back at the start point by 16:00.
An entry fee of £10 per team will be made to cover costs and include a souvenir badge that is unique to the event for every participant. Note: – costs stated do not include any travel or evening meals.
Sleepover (Optional)
This year we have secured the option for Explorers and Scouts to be part of a sleepover at the Royal Navy Submarine Museum, Gosport. The sleepover will include activities around the museum and time on-board both HMS Alliance and HMS Holland (the Navy’s first submarine). After sleeping overnight in the museum they will have breakfast before leaving at 08:45.
The Sleepover will be an additional cost of £30 per person (max) and include Activities, Accommodation and Breakfast. Groups stopping overnight MUST provide sufficient leaders but do not need a NAP as BWDS will cover this.

PLEASE NOTE: The Sleepover is already approaching it’s attendance limit with predicted participants. Groups signing up after it reaches capacity will be notified. As this is currently only a predicted number, actual places will be allocated in the order of signup (subject to deadlines being met).
